The resort & the ski area
Perched at an altitude of 1250m and facing the majestic Grandes Rousses massif, Vaujany embodies the charm and allure of a traditional mountain village, seamlessly blending heritage with modern amenities. Visitors can enjoy top-notch facilities for skiing, skating, and hiking, all set within a stunning natural landscape.
Vaujany is one of the eight communes in the Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski and Grand Domaine VTT, serving as an exceptional gateway to adventure. With 250 km of ski and mountain biking trails and 90 km of marked hiking paths, there’s no shortage of exploration opportunities. Take a ride on the cable car to the Pic Blanc for a breathtaking 360° panoramic view that includes Mont Blanc, Grand Paradis, La Meije, and Les Écrins.
The Alpe d’Huez ski area encompasses five resorts and two villages: Alpe d’Huez, Auris en Oisans, La Garde, Le Freney d’Oisans, Oz en Oisans, Vaujany, and Villard-Reculas. A unique feature of this area is the ability to ski for miles without needing to take a lift! Notable runs include the legendary 16 km Sarenne piste and the Tunnel piste, which traverses the mountain and leads to one of the steepest slopes in France, with a gradient of 35°. Additionally, the area boasts a Famille Plus label and enjoys around 300 days of sunshine each year!
Winter activities
