Romantic; Among nature
Siniscola is a large center of Baronia, at the foot of the karst Dolomite scenery of Monte Albo and on the western edge of the Siniscola stream, among citrus groves, vegetable gardens and olive groves. Its surroundings, towards the mountain, are interesting for some caves and for traces of prehistoric settlements. The mountain, just over 1000 m high and 20 km long, represents a great attraction for those who want to discover the pastoral and wild interior of Sardinia, among extensive forest formations and immense lunar-looking stony ground.
If possible, the even more beautiful coast of Siniscola is a little further south: it is the Bèrchida beach, to which the nearby beaches of Pedra Marchesa and Bidderosa keep good company; the hinterland of the area, consisting of rugged granite hills, is protected by the Company for State Forests.
Not to be missed: a swim in Funtana-Orvili.
The beaches: in addition to La Caletta, the main beaches in the area are those of Posada to the north (in particular the beach of San Giovanni and the large Funtana-Orvili beach, several kilometers long, beautifully wild and natural), Budoni, S. Teodoro (La Cinta, La Foce, Marina di Puntaldia, Cala d'Ambra, Isuledda beach, Costa Caddu and Cala Saghefusti). To the south, the beach of Santa Lucia, Capo Comino - S. Ena 'e sa Chiotta, a splendid beach, on the southern edges of which white dunes stretch, Bèrchida beach, Pedra Marchesa and Bidderosa.
Main distances: Posada, 5 km; Budoni, 10 km; San Teodoro, 30 km; Orosei, 30 km; Olbia, 60 km away.
